Office Manager/Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

A religious organization in Cordova has an immediate opening for a part-time Office Manager/Bookkeeper.  This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting, including employee payroll, payroll taxes, accounts payable, processing contributions, routine bookkeeping, and financial reporting as appropriate.  Also work with outside CPA when appropriate.

  • Support during the annual budgeting process. 

  • Meet weekly with the staff to advance collaboration, alignment, and implementation of the mission and values of the organization.

  • General administrative duties (photocopying, answering phone and emails, faxing, mailing, filing, etc.).

  • Communicate with visitors in coordination with Senior Pastor as prescribed by current procedure.

  • Input visitor and member data into church software in order to keep church directory current.

  • When necessary, disseminate communication to the congregation in coordination with staff through the means of mail, email, social media, and website. 

  • Maintain supplies inventory by regularly checking inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting supply orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Assist the staff, diaconate, and session with clerical duties as directed.

  • Print and fold the weekly bulletins.

  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and well-organized office.

  • Provide administrative assistance for new member classes and special events.

  • Manage database as it pertains to the coordination of volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related education or experience preferred

  • Possess administrative, organizational, problem solving, writing, project management, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and to maintain appropriate confidentiality.

  • Well organized self-starter capable of performing duties with limited supervision.

  • Professionalism interacting with members and visitors.

  • Proficiency/ability to gain proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Elvanto, and Quickbook programs.

Salary: $18-20 per hour, DOE

Hours: Monday & Thursday, 5 hours per day
