Import Coordinator

A company in Memphis has an immediate opening for an Import Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the import, shipping and customs processes for inbound shipments
  • Communicate with manufacturing facilities regarding shipment schedules and lead times
  • Enter sales orders, purchase orders, invoices and bills into systems
  • Manage outbound shipments to meet delivery schedule
  • Organize and maintain document files
  • Process vendor and freight line claims
  • Provide new customer routing
  • Analyze and improve operations procedures
  • Provide initiatives for business growth
  • Coordination with warehousing and air freight
  • Fluent in documentation and bills of lading
  • Data entry
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Logistics/Import
  • Strong mathematical skills required
  • Great interpersonal skills; displays honesty, ethics and integrity at all times
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills including a positive attitude
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills with a focus on organization
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Must have prompt and regular attendance, a sense of urgency, self-motivation and discipline

Hours: Monday – Friday 8-5

Salary: $19-$22 an hour, DOE
