Administrative Clerk

 

A logistics company in Memphis has a temp-to hire opening for an experienced Administrative Clerk. 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must have at least three years of experience in an administrative role.

  • Must be a self-motivated professional, with strong organizational and effective communication skills.

  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Testing will be administered.

  • Must be detail-oriented and comfortable with meeting deadlines.

  • Should have the ability to multi-task and work well with others.

  • Must have the ability to coordinate and prioritize work load.

  • Human Resources experience is a plus.

  • Experience with a logistics company is a plus.

 

 Responsibilities:

 

  • Receive and process driver applications.

  • Apply company policy and federal guidelines to determine driver eligibility.

  • Run background reports and process verification of past employers.

  • Maintain various spreadsheets.

  • Scan documents into the company’s system.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

 

 

Salary: $12-13/hour, DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 – 5 (with some overtime as required)

 Responsibilities:

  • Will create invoices, handle billing, and make deposits.

  • Will type, file, and perform various administrative tasks as assigned.

Legal Assistant

 

A large law firm in Downtown Memphis has an immediate opening for an experienced legal assistant.  This position will answer to one partner and two associates. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Under attorney supervision, create, edit, transcribe, revise, proofread and maintain a variety of litigation or transactional documents

  • Maintain calendars and other time tables for matters to include scheduling/coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements for assigned lawyers

  • Manage lawyers daily time entry

  • Filing, faxing, sending documents via PDF, email, etc.

  • Other duties as required

 

Job Qualifications

  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to readily adjust to changes in firm software and technologies. Strong research and coordination skills required as well as excellent grammar and proofreading and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills required. Required to type 60wpm.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high pressured environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a legal assistant in a law firm. Must be used to working in different departments.

  • Strong organizational skills. Strong written and oral communications skills and must be able to convey her or his ideas in a manner that is convincing to others.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow the ability to work with a variety of attorneys and administrative staff.

  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to partner effectively with other administrative areas in order to accomplish the firm’s goals.

  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to meet the demands of the position; this includes working with attorneys and staff.

  • Experience in a tax or corporate governance department is a plus.

 

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8-5

Salary: $40-50K depending on experience
