Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

A religious organization in Memphis has an immediate opening for a part-time Administrative Assistant.  This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate memos, emails and reports as needed

  • Prepare classrooms for activities including weekly announcement sheets, change of information/visitor log, name tags, table tents, prayer cards, markers/erasers/pens, etc.

  • Prepare monthly expense reports and reimbursement reports as needed

  • Schedule and support special events, i.e. picnics, retreats, ladies and men’s fellowships, leadership meetings, Christmas parties, etc.

  • Assist with special projects

  • Post information on the community websites and social media coordinator duties as needed

  • Schedule monthly committee meetings and generate agendas

  • Prepare yearly spreadsheets for fall and spring semesters

  • Assist with all logistics for yearly group leader training

  • Add new requests and review existing entries seeking updates via email, phone call, hospitalization text, or ministers.

  • Ensure mailing addresses are secured for each entry.  There is an average of 65 entries each week

  • Monitor the quantities of gift cards, bus passes and Bibles.  Ask missions minister to purchase cards and bus passes, and order Bibles from the bookstore

  • Relieve the Receptionist for a 15-minute morning break on Tuesdays of each week

  • Answer miscellaneous incoming calls and assume other duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Should have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar administrative position.

  • Must have Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Candidates will be tested.

  • Must have GREAT oral and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking required.

Salary: $17.25/hour, DOE

Hours: 32 hours per week
