Accounts Receivable Clerk

A company in Memphis has a temp to hire opening for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk.


  • Processing & monitoring incoming payments
  • Processing monthly statements.
  • Ensuring accuracy & efficiency of operations
  • Securing revenue by verifying & posting receipts, & resolving any discrepancies
  • Generate customer invoices and account statements
  • Research, process and post customer payments of cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Prepare/process daily bank deposits and receipts
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly close procedures
  • Investigate and resolve any account discrepancies & authorized deductions
  • Maintain and produce accounts receivable data, files, records, and reports
  • Collect and preserve customer sales tax certificates and other sales tax records
  • Calculate, collect & remit applicable sales tax figures & reports
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders, contacting customers & working with management to verify status of delinquent accounts, solicit payments on overdue accounts & resolve billing issues
  • Preserve petty cash account & records
  • Assist with office reception duties to receive visitors, to answer, screen & forward incoming calls & to receive & sort daily mail
  • Aid in maintenance of accurate inventory records & order processing
  • Assist management with computer or clerical needs
  • Support/backup other office personnel as requested
  • Comply with company, state, and federal policies, procedures & regulations
  • Think creatively for ways to minimize costs and maximize efficiency


  • Must have at least 2 years of accounts receivable experience
  • Strong computer skills, especially typing; experience using Word & Excel is required
  • Experience with accounts payable is a plus
  • General math skills
  • High school diploma

Salary:$13-$15/hour, depending on experience

Hours:Monday – Friday
